Dear Friends,
 
Will you help me celebrate my 90th birthday this May? On down here I’m going to tell you what I’m talking about.
 
First though, I want to thank everyone for the prayers for Mary and me. My new hip is getting me around and making it easier to help Mary.
 
Some of you may not know me. God sent me to be part of the very first LIVE Weekend in Reedsport, Oregon, in 1977. Jesus who saved me allows me to love Him by singing. I have made thousands of friends over the years. He changed my life, and let me see how people sharing with people could change a lot of other lives...

Greetings! -- to each of you who have come to treasure this prayer-fueled, servant-driven program of restoration and renewal that we know as LIVE Ministries!

One way or another, I have been a part of this special ministry, almost back to the time it was founded by Dale and Marilyn Warman. How wonderful it has been to hear the reports of lives changed by the simple process of lay people sharing with lay people! I have witnessed the powerful, scripturally significant impact of those laypeople. What great news it is to hear of new souls who have met Christ for the first time!

We all know that such answers to prayer come with hard work, hundreds of people volunteering to travel at their own expense to churches where we have been invited, and the dedication of our small, wonderful staff...

Pastor Gerald Marvel passed away peacefully on December 7, 2007, surrounded by his family.  We miss him dearly and remember with gratitude the vital role he played in the establishment and growth of LIVE Ministries.  Prior to his death, he wrote the following wonderful support letter:

Over 30 years ago, LIVE Ministries got its start in the church that I pastored in Vancouver, Washington. It has been my personal blessing to watch this important lay ministry grow over the years and to be a part of that growth by serving on the Steering Committee.
